Of Fried Onions and Srping Onions
My lovely wife was commenting that Singapore food is so predictable and boring. Almost every foodcourt sells the same things and almost every other dish will have a sprinkling of chopped spring onions and fried onions. That made me wonder at the awkward truth of Singaporean food, that we are neither here nor there. It is true that you dont even have reaction time to say whether you want or do not want the spring onions and fried onions, as the seller will assume you want it and throw them into the food with such style and automation that you wonder whether that these 2 garnishings make our food all taste the same.....hahaha
