Dome Cafe
Today we went to Dome at Bishan for lunch. Dome is one of my favourites because the design of the cafe just makes you feel so cosy and warm. Just picture timber floors with timber chairs and stone table tops, etc. The design is one of those woody traditional cafes that you find in Europe but twitched with our hot tropical climate in mind, as can be seen from the alfresco seating areas where there is always a deep overhang for shade and ceiling fans. I just love the fact that they have this sofa and coffee table in the middle of the restaurant filled with magazines. In Singapore where mid range restaurants tend to squeeze in every single chair and table possible, the layout in Dome is a luxury for space deprived Singapore. Even the clutter of coffee cups, cookie jars, etc do not look out of place. I respect the establishment for staying true to their promise so far and it will always be one of my favourite hangouts.
