Bishan

After 2 years in Bishan, there are things I love about it and things I wish there was:

Loves

The well designed library
Bishan Park
Cycling and jogging around the neighbourhood
The outdoor cafes within Bishan Park
The authentic and affordable italian food stall at the coffee shop at Street 22
The lovely small hill/park outside my flat
The sight of the trees fronting majestic RI in the morning
The smell of fresh air in the morning outside my flat
Dome cafe at Bishan Community Club
The chicken rice among other old favourites at Kim San Leng coffeeshop
The number of 24 hour coffeeshops in the neighbourhood
The full facilitied and well planned sports complex
The Circle line interchange
The open plaze between the MRT station and junction 8, where somehow you can have a full view of the sky
The new MRT entrance at the other end of the bus interchange, with its organic form and the coffeeshop next to it that faces an open field...nice to have a coffee there in the morning

Lacking

The bus interchange is in desperate need of upgrading
I want satay in Bishan!
More cheap breakfast options on the way to work
More buses to town and the central part of Singapore
More taxis along Bishan Road!
Somebody should control the number of Garang Guni men shouting outside the blocks during the weekends when I am sleeping in!
Swimming pool is overcrowded with swimming lessons
